Here are seven icons of mine picked by my friend
George Lucas appeared on a very special episode of "The Colbert Report." He (known just as "George L.") submitted a video to Colber's Green Screen Challenge. Lol. It was hillarious. At the very end Lucas and Colbert started dueling with these really expensive lightabers that actually make noises and have a neon light that looks pretty damn authentic. It was great. So great, that I wanted to make an icon of it . . . and I did. Stepen doing an amazing flying squirrel move over George's lightsaber.
I love pancakes. I do. I like to put peanut butter and chocolate syrup on them. Maybe Nutella if I have some. So, knowing I love pancakes my dear wife gave me this icon when she found it. And I just thought it was so very funny with the syrup dripping down and the text. Oh God, so very sexual. Lol
An icon I actually don't use that much though I really should. I just don't think anyone would get it if I did. This is one of my pairings from Star Trek: Voyager. Anyone who knows me knows I go for the angst. Pairings that, for one reason or another, seem to be forbidden or in this case unrequited. Here we have the beautiful former Borg 7 of 9 and the Holographic Doctor (he's my fav character from Voyager by the way). I just though him falling in love with her was really sweet and the fact that the writers totally ruined TWO pairings in the final episode by putting 7 with Chakotay just strengthened my love for Doc/7
Another icon lovingly given to me by my wife. I love icons that merge two of my fandoms. In this case we have Firefly and Star Wars. In this most horrible of scenes, Obi-Wan is watching Anakin burn on Mustifar. In a beautiful twist he seems to shout the words that Wash yelled during his dinosaur battle on the bridge of Serenity. As we all know, Anakins betrayal was sudden but inevitable. Lol. So funny!
A beautiful icon made by my friend Amelia from a beautiful painting. George Washington is my very favorite historical figure. I find him fascinating. This painting of him kneeling in prayer in the snow seems to say so much about this time in his life. At least what historians think this time must have been like for him. Valley Forge was a disaster, his men were dying in the harsh winter and the great man was humbled at his situation. He could do nothing but lobby Congress for help and, ultimately one would imagine, pray that they would make it through alive.
One of my OTPs!! *squee* This pairing is the ultimate test of faith and loyalty. Being an Obidala fan means dedication. This icon says so much to me about their relationship, only at the end do they realize what had been in front of them all those years. if only one of them had turned around to really see the other, maybe things could have been different. I love the effects, the colors and the placement of the photos. Just beautiful.
This icon is very very close to my heart. Made by a dear friend at a really tough moment in my life. I was really depressed and missing the time I spent at Mills College. This icon shows several of the most beautiful spots on campus and has a quote that all Mills women hold close to their hearts: "Remember who you are and what you represent." I am so grateful for this icon and for Mills. It empowers, inspires, and makes me more confident.
Wow, this was way fun! Thanks Nicole for sharing!
